We also get to spend time with my cousins Meri and Jordan and my Uncle Jerry! It was a FANTASTIC trip!! We rented a car and drove to see Redwoods at Muir Woods, drove to Sausalito, toured Alcatraz at night (!), ate In n Out Burgers, Drove Go-Carts around the city of San Fran, ate SPECTACULARLY (Sushi, Italian, French Bakery, mmm).... what a trip!

Well, Heidi and I visited Jeff in October to help celebrate his birthday! He decided that one of the trips he set up was to several different wineries in California wine country! He booked a limo and Jeff, Heidi, and I joined 7 of Jeff's closest friends for an amazing trip! We had so much fun, and drank plenty of wine! I learned about wine (we took an EXTENSIVE behind-the-scenes tour at the first winery) and it was a very educational binge-wine-drinking experience :)

#51: Setup a PC Backup System

I bought a really awesome Network Attached Storage system: Buffalo LinkStation. It's really an amazing little device that I bought specifically to improve ease of sharing media files to my xbox 360. This 1 Terabyte system does that and so much more. One part of that so much more is PC Backup. It works great and I have set it up on my PC. Very cool!

#4: Jump out of a plane on purpose (preferably with a parachute)

So apparently Marc was the only manly man who was man enough to do the manly act of jumping out a plane to conclude my bachelor party weekend. It was quite an experience. I asked the instructor that I was tied to if there was anything cool that we could do to make it even more memorable, and he said we could do a flip out of the plane instead of just jumping. Awesome.

The plan flew to 13,500 feet, we did the flip, and we landed safely several minutes later. Super awesome amazing!!

So I've recently changed jobs here at Razorfish. About 2 months ago I changed jobs from Business Analyst in the CIG group to Web Analytics Consulting Analyst in the WAPG in Global Solutions. I've really been enjoying the new, and much harder, work so far, and I look forward to getting promoted to a tried and true Web Analytics Consultant.

So I did it and I didn't blow up the kitchen! I used 7 Jalapeno's, 3 gloves of Garlic, Curry Powder, Salt, Vinegar and plenty of food processing. It's really delicious too! I've had several co-workers agree, and come back for more! Mmmmmm, can't wait to finish all these bottles so I can make a red hot sauce (Apparently Philly doesn't have Cayenne Peppers... grr)

#52: # Take Sax lessons for 2 months

So I started taking Sax lessons this week!! It was awesome! I met up with this kid I found on Craig's List who just graduated from University of the Arts and plays Alto, Tenor, and Baritone Sax - really well. Anyway, we started simple so he (and I) could figure out what I can and cannot do. Apparently, I remember more than I expected! Before long I could play a G Major Scale, G Blues Scale, D Major Scale, and even "You are my sunshine!" - which I promptly played for Heidi when I got home. My teacher seemed very content teaching me (I'm his first 'adult' student, so I think he's glad to teach someone who wants to learn :) and I'm really looking forward to my next lesson - Tuesday!

I'll have to get a photo of me playing my new Sax (thanks Dad for the great Chanuka gift!) and put it here asap.

Obviously I can't quite cross this one off because I haven't done it for 2 months, but I've been enjoying it so much I don't think I'll have a problem following through.

#76: See a live Broadway-type show in Philly

So I bought tickets to the Nutcracker in Philly for Heidi and I for Christmas! First we went out to dinner at Sotto Varalli - mmm, very VERY tasty! I got the Crab and Shrimp Linguini, and Heidi got the Roast Duck. Both were spectacular. I highly recommend them both! It's a neat restaurant, but there are cool atmospheres in Philadelphia.

The show was ... ok. Heidi loved it, and the music was great, but apparently ballet kind of bores me. I definitely closed my eyes a couple of times during the first act. At least the Tchaikovsky was beautiful!

So Zach, my Cousin Scott, and I all went to the Thanksgiving Eagles game this year! Granted, this was a holiday, so it doesn't count. Luckily, Scott stayed in town long enough that the three of us were able to go to Blue Mountain and go skiing together too (Zach snowboarded). It was a blast! First ski day of the year, and we all had a great time!

Since I cannot play my drums in my apartment (I probably can, but I don't think my neighbors would be too happy about it) I've decided to switch #52 to take Sax lessons. I've found a teacher who will begin giving me lessons at the end of January! Yay! I can already play Doe, A Deer and a C Major scale ... whoopie!! Before long, I'll hopefully be playing Caravan again! Ahh, those were the days

#59 - Join a New Gym. Well, my building has a gym. I think I need to change this to workout 3 times a week for a month, especially since I have yet to actually visit the gym, and I moved to this building in July. OK new 2009 Eric - make it happen!

#78 - Since Brewing Beer requires a basement, I've decided to switch this to make my own hot sauce! Heidi's Mom got me a sweet Make Your Own Hot Sauce kit, and I wanna try and make my own! It's gonna smell delicious.

I got to go to the Giants SNF game (L 31-36), Cardinals Thanksgiving game (W 48-20), Browns MNF game (W 30-10), and the Cowgirls Game of Awesomeness (W 44-6)!!

So I'm VERY close to finally getting this one done. I'll be working on Skip's step-dad's company's website. My plan is to implement some basic SEO techniques, as well as allow some thumbnailing on his images. Should be simple, but here's the best part: I was planning on getting paid for the site, but it turns out that Frank has some Eagles games that he can't get to this season (all the night ones) -- so we've decided that instead of him paying me for the web-work, then me paying him for the tickets, we'd just work out a barter system. I finish the site, he gives me the tix. SWEEEEET. Go Eagles!

So I was a little late on this one, but I met up with Solomon, Jennifer, Abraham, and Daniel at the beach in Brigantine. Heidi and I had a blast playing with the kids on the beach - Apparently Abraham really loves to be lifted up over waves - my back sure was complaining a lot the next day.... Either way, it was fun, and those twins are two of the cutest frickin kids I've ever played with. Can't wait to see them again!

So I FINALLY have organized all my stupid bank accounts at PNC! I officially have moved almost all of my hard-earned cash into a Hyperion Bank HyperInterest Account! I get 5% interest and it gives my Dad business - YAY!! Last month I made 24 cents in interest! However, I was still transferring money over, so this month should be a bit better - Can't wait!!

#2: Buy a Mac/iPhone

So ... I know this is sort of a copout, but I finally got the new iPhone 3G the other day. And since my PC at home is running perfectly, I really don't have a need for a Mac any time soon. Maybe by the time this thing is done (866 days) I'll have a need for a new computer, at which time I'll probably buy a Mac. But, for now, I'm crossing this off my list. Bite me.

Anyways, I'm loving the iPhone so far. I ended up having to leave work on Wednesday at around 9:45, drove to King of Prussia with my buddy Steve (who also got one that day) waited in line for .... quite a while .... and have been having fun playing with it ever since. I very easily set up my work email/calendar which is just plain awesome. I took it to the local ATT store and they hooked it up with all my phone numbers from my old Verizon phone (so glad to be rid of that thing).

Now comes the daunting task of adding email addresses to all my contacts. I guess I'll do it through Outlook so I can type a little faster ... it's just gonna be a while.

In the meantime, I'm having fun playing with the following Apps:

So I'll be getting my 40-yard dash timed today. And what better place to get it done then at the LINC?! (Answer: there isn't one). Handza's company is having some ridiculous Punt/Pass/Kick Challenge ON THE FIELD in South Philly and they're timing our 40's! As well as letting us kick a Field Goal, Throw for Distance, Wide Receiver Challenge (run a route, catch ball), and Running Back Challenge (run through a RB Obstacle course).

SOUNDS AMAZING TO ME!!!! Anyways, I'm just about to head out for it. Wish me luck. Next up will be comparing my time to the NFL players. Good thing I found this site.

Update: So the event was a blast! I got my 40-time, but it was a bit unofficial. Anyways, I ran a 4.60. Not bad huh?

#3: Move out of 403

Well, my 2.5 year tenure at 403 Dickinson will finally come to an end this coming Tuesday. Heidi (officially my fiance) and I picked out an amazing apartment at 1500 Locust. We're on the 33rd floor, and have full access to the Rooftop Indoor Pool, Rooftop Sundeck, Game Room (with PING PONG, Pool Table, and 2 Foosball tables), and it's in an awesome neighborhood!

Of course, I'll always miss 403. It has been fun, disgusting, and educational for me - I just can't quit you 403 (although seriously, I can).

Update: I'm in the new apartment now! The place is great! Love the neighborhood, love the building, and I'm even finding street parking...

#2: Buy a Mac...

So, I have some interesting information about this one, well, interesting for me. I've spent the past couple of weeks working on improving the performance on my PC. It's only about 2.5 years old and has a sweet 24" Widescreen monitor. However, performance of XP was slipping. Since I work for Microsoft, I decided to upgrade to Vista (the $400 Vista Ultimate DVD cost me only $36...). After installing, which was more than a hassle, my system was running pretty well. Until I realized that Vista decided my graphics card couldn't handle Aero, and turned it off without telling me. Well, I turned the Aero interface on, and, as expected, it was running slow. (operative word: 'was'). I chatted with my buddy Jereme Patwaaaaaaaaa about this and he helped me pick out a well-priced video card ($125 for an NVidia 9600GT from newegg.com). After installing it I can't believe how much faster my PC is! Aero runs smoothly, it starts up quickly, and I'm looking into installing some games to test it out for real.

Anyway, you may be wondering, what the hell does this have to do with Buying a Mac? Well, first-off, there's no reason for cussing.
Secondly, I just extended the life of my PC! This means that I may not need a new computer within the next 1001 days...
Thirdly, I'm (surprisingly) very satisfied with Vista. It has some nice interface features, and runs quickly and safely. I'm hopeful that this experience will continue. If it does, I may just have to stick with a Windows machine (or wait for Windows 7). But I'm not making any guarantees here.
Fourthly, I really want an iPhone. There have been a ridiculous amount of times over the past month or so where I've wished I had one for convenience sake. Well, I expect to get one by June - when (hopefully) the 3G iPhone Version 2 comes out. Hopefully, this will have a larger memory capacity too. Walt Mossberg expects Apple to release the new phone within 60 days, and he's no dummy. Anyway, the iPhone is basically the most portable Mac ever, so (finally I've gotten to the point of this post) I've decided that Buy a Mac will be changed to Buy a Mac/iPhone.

So there.
